Ryan Gold joined WTXL in September 2025. He's from Philadelphia, PA, so he's trading in snow days for days on the beach.
Ryan's love for weather started at a young age. He says he wanted to learn how thunderstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes worked. That curiosity sparked his interest in weather, which led to extensive reading that deepened his love for meteorology.
Ryan is a 2019 Penn State University graduate with a degree in forecasting and communications.
He began his career as a morning meteorologist for KTWO-TV in Casper, Wyoming. In June 2020, he made the move south to Augusta, GA, at WJBF. He most recently worked at Chattanooga, TN, at WTVC.
